The Big Deco Apple
Join the Miami Design Preservation League and Jack Johnson (not the musician) for a lecture on Art Deco architecture in New York City. Johnson uses photographs he has taken during the past two years to provide a tour of well-known and hidden Art Deco treasures in the Big Apple. His commentary and photographs demonstrate the ways in which the Art Deco style has shaped the way we think about New York City and created many of its most famous landmarks.
The Miami Design Preservation League is a non-profit preservation and arts organization founded in 1976. It is devoted to preserving, protecting and promoting the architectural, cultural, social, economic, and environmental integrity of the Miami Beach Architectural Historic District (Art Deco District) as well as other areas of the city and South Florida, wherever historic preservation is a concern. MDPL is the oldest Art Deco society in the world.
Where: Wednesday, November 13, 7pm
Location: Art Deco Welcome Center, 1001 Ocean Dr, Miami Beach
